The poem

English Meaning

The flower is praying to god and makes a wish. A patriotic wish.

The flower says it is not my wish to be a part of a beautiful lady’s ornaments. I do not want the pride to be chosen by an extraordinarily beautiful woman and become a part of her ornaments.

I do not wish to be a part of a beautiful love garland and impress the beloved. I do not see any pride in getting that status.

Oh! HARI (Referring to Vishnu), even I do not want to be put on the dead bodies of emperors, kings, or queens. I even do not see my motive there.

My wish is not to be offered to any God’s head. Being offered to God is the best option any flower can get. That is the highest position a flower will have. However, this flower does not want itself to be offered to God and flaunt its destiny.

This flower makes a wish to an ordinary gardener to pluck it and throw it on the path. The path on which the soldiers go to offer their head to the motherland.

Summary of the poem – Pushp ki Abhilasha

The flower can easily be used by a beautiful lady and can be praised to glorify her beauty. It can be used as a love garland and be a part of love-making. It can decorate an emperor’s dead body and lastly, it can be offered to god.

in all these situations, the flower will get a status and will be praised. However, this flower knows that all these wishes are temporary. The flower chooses the best way to serve the nation and that is by being thrown on the path of soldiers, who fight and are ready to die for the motherland.

Moral of the poem – Pushp Ki Abhilasha

It does not matter how small you are and what status you can get in society. Every moment, think about your motherland. Do something for your country.

Like the flower in the poem, everyone cannot become a soldier to fight for the nation, however, they can put efforts to raise the status of their country.

Whatever country you belong to, love your country and your countrymen.
