Author name: William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1564, a small market town in Warwickshire, England. His baptism is recorded on April 26, suggesting he was born a few days earlier, on April 23. Shakespeare was the third child of John Shakespeare, a successful glove maker and alderman, and Mary Arden, a daughter of the gentry. In the late 1580s, Shakespeare moved to London, the burgeoning cultural hub of England. This move marked the beginning of his career in the theatre. Initial records of his professional life in London appear in 1592, with Robert Greene’s pamphlet referring to him as an "upstart crow" in the theatre world. This indicates that by this time, Shakespeare had already made a significant impression.
