Let us combine it and get the complete meaning of the mantra.
I know that this is the accurate meaning of the mantra. If anyone has to dispute, give me the meaning and prove it, where in this mantra, it says raise me from death?
Mahamrityunjaya mantra is dedicated to lord Shiva and he is the God of death. He has made the death as inevitable. So, the Mahamritynjaya mantra does not save you from death. However, it prepares for the death. It makes you strong and accept death as a passage to another world. So, you remain immortal. You are there in this world and you will remain there in another world. Hence, death is not something to be afraid of.
So, when you recite the Mahamritynjaya mantra with full consciousness, you imbibe the meaning that the world is a bondage, your life is a bondage, the relationships are a bondage, the money is a bondage and anything worldly is a bondage.
The most fearful thing in your life is the fear of death. Isn’t it? Thinking of anything else getting lost will not give you much fear. However, the fear of losing your life is ultimate. You can lose anything for your life. If your life is to be saved, you can pay any price that you can. True or not?
However, the Mahamrityunjaya mantra frees you from this fear. It tells you that anything materialistic in this world is bondage. So, O! God, do not keep me attached to worldly things as it would be tough for me to die and travel to another world. The death is not the end, I will always remain. So, there is nothing to fear.
By now, you must have realized that you have been fooled with a twisted meaning. Listen to this mantra on YouTube and in the intro, you can find it saying such things about the Mahamrityunjaya mantra.
However, the Mahamrutyunjaya Mantra is indeed miraculous and it helps overcome the fear of death. There is a difference between averting death and eradicating the fear of death. Let us see what is the meaning of the Mahamrityunjaya mantra in my view.

A mind that is full of greed, a person that is a liar or is involved in illegal activities, should not perform this. You should be clean by body and soul. That is the reason this mantra is tough. If the mantra itself says that it is a liberation from worldly matters, an unhealthy brain with thoughts of all worldly matters will not be able to perform.
People charging you money for the recitation of the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra would never let you find this fact. Trust me, the truth is, you do not want to come out of the worldly matters. But the real pleasure is in spirituality.
Do not get me wrong here, there is a difference between fulfilling your duties and being attached to them.
While reciting the mantra the pronunciation should be correct. Because correct pronunciation gives you correct meaning. You should be focused. Many YouTube Channels will give you the mantra with added music, your mind is not on the mantra and its reals meaning, however, it is on the music. Recite slowly and purposefully.
Benefits of Mahamrityunjaya Mantra
Yes! there are benefits of Mahamrityunjaya Mantra. True benefits. It does not give you money, does not wake you up from dead or does not give you a lot of power to rule the world. Once you get this sense, you will not be afraid of death, is not a victory on death? Is it not the true meaning of Maha (Great) – Marityu (Death) – Jaya (Victory) – The great mantra to win over the death.
