Andhere Ka Deepak Poem (Hai Andheri Raat Par Deeva Jalana Kab Mana Hai?) is an optimistic poem. This is an excellent poem by Harivansh Rai Bachchan which is enough to fill anyone with enthusiasm and hope in times of despair. Here darkness means a time when your hope or imagination is broken. There was something big in your imagination, something special, but it could not be fulfilled. At such a time, what is wrong in having a small hope, a simple imagination?

The lamp of darkness (When is it forbidden to light a lamp on a dark night?) is an optimistic poem.

The whole idea of the poem The Lamp of Darkness is that there is no harm in having hope in times of despair. There is no prohibition. If we explain the lines of this poem one by one, we will understand what Bachchan ji wants to say through this poem.

Andhere Ka Deepak Poem

Hai Andheri Raat Par Deeva Jalana Kab Mana Hai?

Here poet Harivanshrai Bachchan wants to say that in your imagination you had built a house like a temple, that is, one that is very pleasing to the mind. You expanded it with your emotions. You had created every corner of it with your feelings.

He cherished this dream of yours with great interest. In your dream you had decorated it with colors which are not easily available. As if they were brought from heaven. But for some reason that temple of beautiful imaginations collapsed and broke. That dream of a beautiful temple was shattered. In such a situation, when is it forbidden to build a hut by joining bricks, pebbles and stones and have peace?

The night is dark but when is it forbidden to light a lamp?

That is, if a big dream has been broken, it is better to dream of a small dream that can be fulfilled rather than being disappointed about it, it is not forbidden to dream of such a dream. It is better to have a little hope in mind than to be disappointed. That little hope is the lamp of darkness.

Here one imagines a vessel or vessel which is extremely beautiful. As if it was a clear blue sky after the rain. After the rain, the surface becomes as blue as the sky, a honey pot made of such beautiful color, which is charming to look at and pleasing to the mind. There is such beautiful red wine in that Madhu Ghat, like the redness of the first ray of morning. And that red wine is in that moment just as the first rays of the morning are reflected in the new clouds.

If such a beautifully imagined honey pot, filled with such beautiful red wine, breaks, then it is not forbidden to quench one’s thirst from a pure source with the palms of both hands together.

If the night is dark, then it is not forbidden to light a lamp of hope.

Here the poet remembers the happy past times. A time when there were no worries. That was a time when leave alone sorrow, even his shadow had not come close. There was so much happiness at that time that joy was dripping from the eyes and words. And it seemed as if even the thunder in the clouds had faded away. And because of this it seems as if even the clouds feel ashamed.

This is what happens when a person has good times. The mind is full of confidence, it seems as if happiness is visible in the eyes and words. And at that time man laughs openly. But good times do not last forever in anyone’s life.

Those good times are gone, or have passed, and gone with all the basis of happiness. But if we know that time is unstable and does not remain the same, then it is not forbidden to smile at this nature of time.

That smile may not be joyful, there is no harm in smiling.

If there is despair at night, then it is not forbidden to light a lamp of hope.

The poet wants to say here that there was a time when the mind was in its own fun. In this joy of mind, passion was aroused. In this joy of mind, even the luxuries of the world were rejected. Turning his eyes away from the glories of the world, he had asked for the boon of singing songs. A song that originates from the mind of one person and reaches the minds of others. And this song was played continuously and spread everywhere. The entire sky and earth was filled with the singing of this soul-pleasing, maddening song.

Now the fun in that mind has come to an end. Now that those songs have ended, it is not forbidden to hum an incomplete line to entertain the mind.

Alas! There was a time when friends came closer like iron comes closer to a magnet. He came so close and entered my heart. The days were spent with him like someone singing the love of life on the strings of a veena. With those friends and companions, it seemed as if this is life, and life is so lovely. But with time those friends get separated.

After getting separated from such a partner, there is no prohibition in feeling disappointed that the partner will never come back, finding a like-minded person, befriending and loving him/her.

It is not forbidden to light a lamp of hope in the darkness of despair.

This happens in our life; we meet different people at different stages of life. We have a good time with them, and somewhere in our mind we think that this time will not pass. But everything changes with time. It is better to be disappointed in such times,

It was a home of love, a home full of love. Such winds blew that the abode of love was destroyed. And at that time making noise or making noise was of no use. But, who has control over the powers of destruction? But oh human! You are the representative of creation. You can build.

So oh human! O representative of creation! You will have to tell whether people or houses are destroyed by the laws of nature. And these laws of nature are inanimate, that is, they cannot be changed by anyone, these laws of nature do not discriminate. Then when you know this, then tell me, when is it forbidden for an uprooted person to resettle?

But when is it forbidden to light a lamp on a dark night.

Andhere Ka Deepak Poem Summary

The poem Andhere Ka Deepak reflects the optimistic thinking of “Harivansh Rai Bachchan“. This poem fills human life with hope. Every line of it shows that there is a reason for despair, but it is better to build a little hope than to drown in despair.

Big dreams get shattered. Big success doesn’t always come, but there is no harm in hoping for a small success. It doesn’t matter if you don’t get big happiness, it is better to hope for small happiness than the disappointment of that big happiness.

Time does not always remain the same, good times go, bad times come, and then bad times also go. Everyone knows this. So, it is better to have hope even in bad times, rather than sink into despair.

If we see in today’s society, people drown in despair and even commit suicide. This poem is an inspiration to live life. To face the difficulties of life.

There is one such poem by Harivansh Rai Bachchan ji which will fill you with inspiration: Need Ka Nirman Phir Phir
